Hole 3 - St Andrews Fairmont - Kittocks Course Guide

Hole 3

125 Yards

Pro Tip - Aim on the clubhouse roof as everything falls towards the water. A good drive leaves you with a decision to make, whether to go for the narrow target in 2, or lay up.

Hole 1 - St Andrews Fairmont - Kittocks Course Guide

Hole 1

Par - 4

Men - 394

Women - 310

Stroke index - 10

Pro Tip - A well struck drive to the left of the bunker but to the right of the stone dyke leaves a short to medium iron to the green. The approach must be sure, or be gathered by the bunker left or the grassy hollow right.

King Of Clubs

King Of Clubs : The Great Golf Marathon Of 1938 (Written by Jim Ducibella)

ferebee cover(2)

A true story of 32-year old stockbroker who bets $100,000 ($1.5 mil today) that he can play (walk) 600 holes over 4 consecutive days in 8 different cities, starting in Los Angeles and ending in New York.

Augusta (GA) Chronicle said that of all the books they receive in the weeks leading up to the Masters, one stood out this year: King of Clubs

LibraryJournal.com reviewed 10 golf books recently. Only one received a "star" as a must-read: King of Clubs

Hole 18 - St Andrews Fairmont - Torrance Course Guide

Hole 18 - Welcome Hame

Par - 5

Distance - 525 yards

Pro Tip - A good finishing hole. The new green is deceptive with bunkers and mounds short of the large, undulating putting surface. A good chance for a final birdie.

Hole 17 - St Andrews Fairmont - Torrance Course Guide

Hole 17 - Coastal Path Dream

Par - 3

Distance - 184

Pro Tip - The former 15th is now the 17th and a perfect par 3 hole it remains. It'll play at 184 yards and it is a beauty of a challenge. An extra club from the tee might be required depending on the wind and the middle of the green is the only safe target. The left is guarded by the sea and the fife coastal path. This hole, and the 16th of The Kittocks Course, are two of the best par 3s you will see. One has the sea on the left, the other on the right.

Hole 16 - St Andrews Fairmont - Torrance Course Guide

Hole 16 - To The Sea

Par - 4

Distance - 429 yards

Pro Tip - The 16th hole has moved closer to the boundary wall running along the left side and now requires the golfer to play closer to the OB, leaving a semi blind shot to the large green perched 100 feet above the sea. At 429 yards the 15th will usually encounter a cross wind and the right front of the green is the target for the second shot. A truly spectacular hole.
