Hole 17 - Coastal Path Dream

Par - 3

Distance - 184

Pro Tip - The former 15th is now the 17th and a perfect par 3 hole it remains. It'll play at 184 yards and it is a beauty of a challenge. An extra club from the tee might be required depending on the wind and the middle of the green is the only safe target. The left is guarded by the sea and the fife coastal path. This hole, and the 16th of The Kittocks Course, are two of the best par 3s you will see. One has the sea on the left, the other on the right.

Hole 16 - St Andrews Fairmont - Torrance Course Guide

Hole 16 - To The Sea

Par - 4

Distance - 429 yards

Pro Tip - The 16th hole has moved closer to the boundary wall running along the left side and now requires the golfer to play closer to the OB, leaving a semi blind shot to the large green perched 100 feet above the sea. At 429 yards the 15th will usually encounter a cross wind and the right front of the green is the target for the second shot. A truly spectacular hole.

Hole 15 - St Andrews Fairmont - Torrance Course Guide

Hole 15 - Ca Canny 

Par - 4

Distance - 359 yards

Pro Tip - A short par 4, however the 15th usually plays into the breeze. Drive straight over the target bunker to leave a short and challenging second shot which can actually be easier with the wind against you. Another really good green requires thoughtful putting.

Hole 14 - East Wing

Par - 4

Distance - 409 yards

Pro Tip - The old 8th hole plays back towards the Fairmont resort. It used to be a par 5, now it plays as a par 4 to a new green site which is just over the burn. A good drive can run downhill leaving a short second shot. The shot to the green will test your wedge as there is no possible run-up shot available. An opportunity to spin your ball back into the burn exists, depending on the direction of the wind!

Hole 13 - Neil's Bunker

Distance - 437 yards

Pro Tip - Formerly the 7th hole, with new tees and a different line, this par 4 will play all of its 437 yards. There are no bunkers around the green but none are needed as this hole is possibly the hardest par on the back 9.

Hole 12 - St Andrews Fairmont - Torrance Course Guide -

Hole 12 - Porte Cochere 

Par - 5

Distance - 528 yards

Pro Tip - Formally a par 4, the 12th has been lengthened and is now a par 5. The hole plays to the former eighth green with the burn guarding the front. It is probably best played as a three shot hole - laying up your second to the original green will offer you the best chance to land your third on the dance floor.

Hole 11 - Bell Tower

Distance - 165 yards

Pro Tip - With the ancient skyline of St. Andrews behind the green as a distraction the par 3 11th is a stern challenge. The tees are now aligned from the left which appears to open up the green surface and means you do not have to challenge the bunker on the left. Still a great putting surface, the pin's location can make or break a good score here.

Pro Tip - There is only one bunker and it is left of the fairway, a burn protects the right side and that together with a shallow green makes the tenth a tough start to the back nine.

Hole 9 - Bit of a Wa' 

Par - 4

Distance - 405 yards

Pro Tip - This downwind par 4 ends the front 9. Both the fairway and the green often stimp over 10. Favouring the left of the tee and then aiming for the middle right side of the green can work. Avoid all
three bunkers if possible and do not challenge the left greenside one!

Hole 8 - Bell Rock

Distance - 191 yards

Pro Tip - The new tees are further to the left making this par 3 extremely challenging from the tee. This line is now almost over the deep front bunker, and playing long is not an option as there are 2 very serious sod walled bunkers over the green's right side. Short right is the safest option.
